Durban, South Africa--- To deliver The Right Light during the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup event, Schréder Hestia luminaires were specified to illuminate the pedestrian walkways, paths and landscapes at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa. The stadium possesses a unique and magnificent architectural feature - a monumental arch symbolizing a united nation.

Schréder's Hestia family of luminaires was chosen in various lamp configurations to meet the stadium precinct's specifications, ensuring the correct Photometric solution. HESTIA luminaires were installed on the access walkway from the beachfront and along Isiah Ntshangase Road. The luminaires were also placed on the section of road in front of the stadium on Masabalala Yengwa Avenue. Schréder lighting solutions were supplied and distributed by BEKA (Pty) Ltd, which is based in Olifantsfontein, South Africa and is a member of the Schréder Group G.I.E.

Crafted of aluminum and glass, the Hestia was designed around a new miniaturized reflector.   Less space for the optical compartment results in more space for the creative liberty granted to the designer, offering opportunities for new lighting solutions.

The Right Light is achieved with optimal point source” lamp positioning inside the optical unit, which delivers a higher level of light flux on the ground surface without light pollution and spillage. 
Thanks to imperviousness of its IP66 rated seal, the unique Sealsafe® optical chamber enables the luminaire to sustain maximum photometric performance over long periods of time.
