ETC’s Selador® LED fixtures win PALME 2010 lighting award
ETC’s Selador Series LED fixtures have received yet another international award, this time for Best Intelligent Lighting Fixture, at the PALME Middle East Awards 2010. These prestigious regional awards honor innovation and technical excellence in lighting design. Erik Larsen, ETC’s market manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, says: “We’re delighted to receive this second award for our Selador LED fixture range and especially in a category that usually rewards moving lights. With Selador’s exclusive x7 Color System technology, these are truly intelligent lights.” The Selador fixtures were nominated for the award by Dubai-based distributor Oasis Enterprises. David Gray, Architainment Division Manager for Oasis says: “Quality of light output is an important feature in an energy-efficient fixture, and the PALME award recognizes this. The Selador Lustr fixture, for instance, was designed to produce warm or cool pure white light slowly evolving into the softest tints and color shadings, while always rendering pigments and skin tones in their natural appearance. The Middle Eastern TV market has been fast to recognize the benefits and uses of this Selador color in broadcast production.” Venues and productions worldwide are seeking greener lighting options. Energy efficiency is a hallmark of Selador LED lighting. Gray illustrates the power-savings: “One Vivid Ice fixture can do the work of 16 Source Four PARs in Congo Blue (for instance). And that same single Ice fixture can do the work of eight PARs to generate Sky Blue.” ETC Selador’s first honor was at the PLASA tradeshow in London, September 2009, where it won a coveted Innovation Award.
